The Epitome of Relaxation

A Roman-Irish Spa Ritual at the Hurlimannbad and Spa Zurich is nothing short of heaven. The "best of an ancient spa culture combined with a unique cleansing ritual in a historic surrounding." Here you'll enjoy 10 different stations where your body is warmed, cleansed, relaxed and cooled down - and repeat. There are wet zones with steam baths, saunas, exfoliating stations and hot baths with massage jets. Then there are the dry zones with heated stone loungers, a ballroom for reading and a lounge for resting or conversation. Because this was part of a 3 week trip, we had to squeeze bathing suits into our already cramped luggage. I bought a new suit and didn't realize until right before we left how much of my saggy, white ass it showed. This suit was definitely meant for a much younger, more toned gal, and we certainly weren't going to be alone at the space. But it is what it is.
Our spa day began with a soap massage, which I'd never had before, but would like again once a month (or day?). OMG, I felt like she was washing away my sins. We then began moving through the bathing ritual until time for our clay covered steam. We didn't realize we were going to be butt naked, covering our bodies in Moroccan mud in front of each other, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. After a relaxing steam and thorough rinse, we rejoined the ritual until time for our milk massage. My god was that amazing. If my masseuse spoke English I would have proposed to her. We completed the last zones of our bathing ritual and took a swim in the rooftop pool overlooking Zurich with gorgeous mountain views. It was a very cold day and the heat of the pool, the crisp mountain air and the relaxation from the massages and baths turned us into melted butter. Our package included all of this and tasty lunch in their very pretty, very zen cafe. This was incredibly affordable (like you won't believe how affordable!) and is a must for anyone in the region. Honestly the best money we spent on the whole trip. Seriously, just do it.
