Corfu, Greece

I couldn't have loved this little island more if I tried.  What an unexpected treat it was to spend a weekend there in January. The weather was cool, but not cold.  The people were incredibly warm and friendly.  The food was delicious, obviously. And the men were like freaking gods.

Corfu becomes a busy, crowded place in season, but in off season it's a peaceful, beautiful, slow-paced island with so much charm.  There are cafes on every corner with restaurants spilling out onto the streets.  The food is diverse and very reasonable priced.  In fact, in off-season everything was super affordable.  I stayed in a one bedroom apt in the heart of downtown and paid $130 US for the whole weekend. (Check it out on my reviews page.) I averaged less than $20 US for each meal, including beverages. And the shopping was awesome.  I strongly recommend a few days, a week (a lifetime) in this delightful place. Seriously, I could live there.
