Athens, Greece

There is no shortage of things to see and do in Athens. From the Acropolis and Parthenon, to the Temple of Poseidon and seemingly endless beachy isles to visit, Athens is the heart of it all. Take a traditional Greek cooking class or grab some souvlaki from a street vendor, either way you can’t go wrong.

With all the ancient history you might thing Athens is old fashioned.  It is not. It's modern, urban, very hilly, has delicious food, and lovely shopkeepers. I recommend making sure you have some non-slip shoes with you, as the sidewalks are hilly, their made of tile and the tiles are often broken. (And dangerous, when they’re wet.)
